Essay On CHOICE OF A PROFESSION

AMBITION OF MY LIFE

Introduction

We all earn our bread by doing some work. That work is our profession. We all like to do that work which gives us money and requires us to do little. But this is not pos sible and we have to choose a work which we can do and for which we have an interest.

Points to be considered

Unfortunately there are many people in this world who are doing a work for which they are not fit. Therefore, we should consider well before taking up and work. The first point to be considered is our natural taste and liking for a work. The second point is the physical fitness. The third point is the means by which we may prosper in that work.

Reason for the choice

Generally people are interested in the work of their forefathers, because it is very easy for them. Moreover they have experience of it. The son of carpenter finds it easy to take up his father’s work. The son of a shopkeeper finds it easy to run a shop. Trade requires money. Government service needs qualification.

I belong to a family of learned Brahmans. My house is near an Inter College. My neighbour is a teacher. I often see him going to school when the bell rings. So when I was a little boy, I wished to become a teacher. I saw him sitting on a chair and talking to the boys. That seemed to be a happy life.

So I wish to become a teacher. I always stand first in my class. I am sure, I can do the work of a teacher very well. I can talk and speak well. The teacher builds the characters of the boys in his charge. Hence the teacher is the real builder of the nation. He is the maker of doctors, engineers, lawyers and rulers.

The work of a teacher is honest. He need not think of bribes and dishonesty. His work is simple and his life is regu lar. He gets up in the morning and reads his books. He teaches the boys for a fixed number of hours. He lives a simple and honest life. He is happy and contented.

The health of a teacher is generally good. He is active and cheerful. He sets an example before boys. He does not smoke or drink. He makes his children great in life.

The teacher gets a number of holidays. His life is not hard. He finds time to read books. His knowledge ever goes on increasing with his age. He is respected everywhere.
